Image
Presented at the 2018 Paris Motor Show along with the Peugeot 508 Hybrid, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4  plug-in hybrid SUV is preparing for the commercial launch. Autonomy, for example, has been revised upwards in light of WLTP approval: up to 59 km of electric range instead of the previously announced 50 km. The Peugeot 3008 offers the possibility of using the electric motor to provide traction to the rear wheels: in this way the car can travel in all-wheel drive and benefit from a total power of 220 kW (300 bhp),  developed thanks to the combination of the 1.6 PureTech petrol engine with 147 kW (200 bhp) and two electric motors. The first is located at the front (integrated into the e-EAT8 gearbox) and develops 81 kW (110 hp), the second is located on the rear axle and develops 83 kW (112 hp). source https://www.electrichunter.com/hybrid-cars/peugeot-3008-gt-hybrid4-plug-hybrid-suv-59-km-autonomy

Image
The iconic MG, an acronym for Morris Garage, lives a second life since it passed into Chinese hands. Since its official launch last July 17, MG has received 1,000 reservations of the new MG ZS EV. One of the main reasons for its success is its price, which starts at 23,500 euros and that makes it one of the most affordable electric car in the market. This sale price is possible thanks to the incentives to buy an electric car by the British government, which amount to 3,800 euros, plus another 3500 euros that MG puts out of its pocket. Permanent recycled magnets will be reused in electric car engines

Image
A new process patented by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) allows the recovery of rare elements from permanent magnets of electronic devices and reuse them to produce new magnets for electric motors equivalent to those made with new materials. A team of researchers at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has developed a process to extract rare elements from permanent discarded magnets from used hard drives and other electronic sources that use them in their composition. The patented process is capable of recovering 97% of the rare elements in the form of oxide, with a purity of 99.5% . source https://www.electrichunter.com/ev-news/permanent-recycled-magnets-will-be-reused-electric-car-engines

Furion M1: the first plug-in hybrid motorcycle will arrive in 2021

Image
Furion Motorcycles is an unknown French manufacturer in the world of motorcycles. Furion first entered the scene two years ago, presenting what was then a concept that could be manufactured, but now it is more serious and has presented the Furion M1. It is the first plug-in hybrid motorcycle on the market, which uses a combustion engine and an electric motor to combine benefits with consumption and contained emissions. The Furion M1 is made on the basis of a Yamaha YZF-R6 due to the "interesting connection" that exists between both manufacturers. This French hybrid motorcycle combines a Yamaha gasoline block, with 750 cubic centimeters of displacement, in combination with an electric motor that, for environmental reasons, does not carry neodymium magnets.
