Harley-Davidson plans to set up its own division for electric motorcycles. This emerges from the motorcycle manufacturer's now published five-year “Hardwire” plan. Previously there had been rumours in the USA that Harley could stop the electric project as part of its austerity program. The focus of the new department will be on technology development as well as product and market launch activities, according to Harley-Davidson. The Livewire, which has been available since 2019, is likely to be followed by a number of other electric models from Harley-Davidson.
