Irizar e-mobility will manufacture 49 electric buses for Strasbourg

Irizar e-mobility won a public tender for the supply of 49 electric buses to the French city of Strasbourg. The first electric buses are expected to be delivered later this year. These vehicles are intended to set up a sustainable public transport system.

The CTS(Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois) order involves the 12-meter-long bus. The new Irizar buses will contribute to the electrification of the Strasbourg bus network. With a three-door configuration, the buses will offer a capacity of 23 seats, including 4 for passengers with impaired mobility, and two areas for wheelchairs, with access via an electric ramp.

Electric buses will be charged overnight in slow mode. The vehicles will be fitted with an AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) system in accordance with European standard R138.
