Polestar 2 production began in Luqiao, China

Volvo started production of Polestar 2 at the factory owned by the Chinese Geely Group in Luqiao, China.

Polestar, a brand owned by Volvo, has started production of the Polestar 2 electric sedan. The new model will be a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3. The production unit is owned by Geely Group, the owner of Volvo and Polestar brands.

Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, said that the production started under special conditions, with a greater focus on the health and safety of the employees.

Deliveries of the new Polestar 2 will begin this summer, market-by-market, starting in Europe and then in China and North America.
