The new Skoda Kushaq SUV
With the new KUSHAQ, a new era begins for ŠKODA AUTO on the Indian subcontinent. The Czech automobile manufacturer is responsible for all activities of the Volkswagen Group as part of the INDIA 2.0 project. INDIA 2.0 includes a model offensive starting with the KUSHAQ with a total of four new compact vehicles from ŠKODA AUTO and Volkswagen. All are based on the MQB-A0-IN version of the modular transverse matrix, which ŠKODA AUTO developed especially for the needs of the Indian market.
The name given to the Skoda KUSHAQ underlines the ambitious goals on the Indian market. It goes back to the Sanskrit language created by the god Brahma according to Hindu mythology. Sanskrit is still maintained today as a traditional language of religion, art and science and is one of 22 official languages in India. ŠKODA AUTO has adapted the spelling of the word 'Kushak' for king or ruler to the nomenclature of its SUV models. The ŠKODA KUSHAQ therefore has a 'K' at the beginning and a 'Q' at the end, just like the successful SUV models KODIAQ, KAROQ and KAMIQ. The new SUV combines brand-typical advantages such as striking design, maximum comfort and safety as well as an excellent price-performance ratio with the wishes of discerning Indian customers.
