The new Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid is growing in popularity

With new noise reduction technology, Ford has made the new Kuga Plug-in Hybrid a much quieter car than previous car generations. This is achieved through what Ford calls the 'whisper strategy', which makes the driving experience of the new Kuga Plug-in Hybrid more comfortable and quiet than ever.

The Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid's noise level in the cabin is as much as 20 dB lower than the noise level in a 1966 Ford Anglia. Most people find that a sound feels twice as loud when it jumps by 10 dB.

The significant result has been achieved with the help of Ford's new 'whisper strategy' - a series of both small and large adjustments that contribute to a lower noise level.

Over two years, Ford has tested more than 70 tire types on different surfaces and under different driving conditions to identify the type of tire that produces the least noise without compromising comfort and traction.

In addition, the underside of the new Ford Kuga has got aerodynamic plates that keep noise from both the road and the wind out of the cabin. The ducts behind the car's exterior panels are also smaller and narrower than in its predecessor, which makes it possible to connect wires and other components from one area to another with minimal airflow on the inside of the body.

The noise level has been further optimized in the new Kuga Vignale Plug-in Hybrid thanks to the luxury model's perforated leather seats. The perforated leather seats reduce the number of flat surfaces in the cabin so that noise can be absorbed rather than reflected.

If you drive on clean power in the Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid with the EV Now driving program, the noise level in the cabin is just 52 dB (tested under controlled conditions), which corresponds to light rainfall.

The Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid has an electric range of up to 56 km for mixed driving and 68 km for city driving.
